CONFERENCES
Mario Flock (MPIA), Eric Gaidos (IfA Hawaii), Neal Turner (JPL) and myself will organize a 8-week long workshop and a week-long conference at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics in UC Santa Barbara for 2024/2025. It aims to bring together exoplanet observers, disk observers, planet formation and disk modelers, as well as cosmochemists and meteoricists to supply expertise on processes involving the solid, liquid, and gas phases of rocky planet building blocks, and the early Solar System record which constrain these.
In October 2022, I co-organized with Mario Flock a 3-days workshop at the Ringberg Castle, focusing on the inner disk regions.
In October 2021, we hosted a workshop on 'GAPS, RINGS, SPIRALS, AND VORTICES: STRUCTURE FORMATION IN PLANET-FORMING DISKS' at the Munich Institute for Astro- and Particle Physics This workshop was co-organized with Til Birnstiel, Anna Miotello, Kees Dullemond, and Jonathan Williams.
In March 2019, I organized an international conference to honor the immense contribution of Antonella Natta to the field of star and planet formation. It was based in beautiful Menaggio, near Lake Como, and was a great success. The talks are accessible from the dedicated website. This conference was co-organized with Thomas Henning and Leonardo Testi.
